Because You Create Menus…

In the last couple weeks, you’ve implemented the menu on the kitchen blackboard system.

It’s saving us money while making me excited about upcoming meals.

Nice touch, sweetie!

Because You My Boo (Thanks Tom Haverford)

I need to come up with a good nickname. I’m not nearly as good as Tom Haverford:

Because You Got My Back

While there are times when I know that I’ve upset you for some reason, I very, very, very seldom feel as if you are disappointed in me.

As I work on our budget right now and struggle with having more month at the end of our money, I can’t help but feel bad. You deserve to be taken care of much better than this. Granted, we are in this together and both make our decisions, but still.  Whether it’s by more consistently keeping track of our budget or whether it’s by my bringing in more, I want you to feel secure financially.

You never make me feel like a putz. I appreciate you for that. You know I work. You could easily complain or fuss or give me a hard time.  Perhaps I watch too much TV to think that anybody does that to their spouse, but nonetheless, I feel like you’re always in my corner.

Because You Threaten Me with Laundry…

…but end up showing me empty baskets.

You always get the biggest kick when you email me, “Hey, I need you to help me fold laundry tonight after dinner. We have tons.”

Then I get home and there are like 7 mismatched socks in one basket and you have the cheshire grin on your face.

While I’m glad not to have to fold laundry, I get more pleasure out of the pleasure it gives you.

I love you!

Because You Plan for Grammie’s School

While I was sitting in our bed writing last night, you worked on the curriculum for ‘Grammie’s School’–the 3 hours of ‘school’ our boys have over at your mom’s house.

First, I love how seriously you take your job as a parent (and as a daughter). You make sure the boys have fun things to do and you make sure your Mom has some things to work with.

Second, I love how good you are at doing these things. The craft projects and learning items were awfully adorable. I know our boys will ove it.

Third, I love the way your face lights up when you work on these projects. It’s like you’re in the zone when you create experiences for our children.

When you get so pumped about putting together a packet of crafts and lessons, I get excited to do waht I dcan in those areas, too.

I’m blessed to have a wife who is excited about being a mom in these ways. And I know our children are blessed to have you as their mother.
